Service Manager (HVAC / Building Services)

Location: Reading (Office-based with site visits)
Salary: Circa £75,000 + Bonus + Vehicle/Allowance + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

Marble Talent Group are working with an established and highly respected building services business who are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and develop its service & maintenance operation.

This is a pivotal leadership role within a growing organisation, offering the opportunity not only to manage an established and well-structured team, but also to play a key part in the company’s future growth and long-term succession planning.

The Role

You will take full responsibility for the delivery and performance of the service & maintenance division, overseeing both operational and commercial activities.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will act as the central point of coordination between clients, engineers, and internal support teams—ensuring a high-quality, responsive service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the service & maintenance operation, including a team of engineers and support staff

* Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient scheduling, service delivery, and client satisfaction

* Conduct site visits for surveys, client meetings, and technical assessments

* Prepare RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)

* Produce complex and high-value repair quotations

* Support the pricing and development of planned maintenance agreements

* Provide technical support and guidance to field-based engineers

* Maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor

* Identify opportunities for service improvement and business growth

The Team

You’ll be leading a well-established and structured department consisting of:

* Service Co-ordinator

* Service Administrator

* Service Support Technician

* Team of Mobile Engineers

This support network allows you to focus on leadership, technical oversight, and strategic growth, rather than day-to-day admin.

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience in a Service Manager or similar leadership role within HVAC / building services

* Strong technical knowledge of air conditioning and mechanical services

* Excellent people management and communication skills

* Commercial awareness with experience in quoting and client interaction

* Strong organisational and IT skills

* A proactive, energetic approach with a desire to drive improvement and growth

Working Hours

* Monday to Friday

* 8:30am – 5:00pm

* Office-based, with regular site visits

Package & Benefits

* Basic Salary: Circa £75,000

* Annual Bonus

* Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays (33 total)
