About the Role
An outstanding and welcoming primary school in Caversham, Reading , is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join its professional teaching team. This is a full-time, permanent position , suitable for both experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers (ECTs).
The successful candidate will be responsible for a class in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 , planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that engage pupils and promote their academic, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities
As a Primary Teacher in Caversham, your responsibilities will include:
Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth
Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN or EAL
Monitoring pupil progress using formative and summative assessment, and adapting teaching accordingly
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside their academic progress
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff, and school leadership to implement targeted interventions
Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives
Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, behaviour, and achievements
Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, assessment, and behaviour
Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and professional development opportunities
Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)
Demonstrates excellent classroom management and consistently applies positive behaviour strategies
Is committed to inclusive education , supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds
Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners
Is reflective, proactive, and committed to professional development
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team
Is passionate about making a lasting impact on children’s learning and development
Experience supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.
