About the Role

An outstanding and welcoming primary school in Caversham, Reading , is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join its professional teaching team. This is a full-time, permanent position , suitable for both experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers (ECTs).

The successful candidate will be responsible for a class in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 , planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that engage pupils and promote their academic, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities

As a Primary Teacher in Caversham, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth

  • Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN or EAL

  • Monitoring pupil progress using formative and summative assessment, and adapting teaching accordingly

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement

  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside their academic progress

  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff, and school leadership to implement targeted interventions

  • Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives

  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, behaviour, and achievements

  • Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, assessment, and behaviour

  • Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and professional development opportunities

  • Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)

  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and consistently applies positive behaviour strategies

  • Is committed to inclusive education , supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds

  • Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners

  • Is reflective, proactive, and committed to professional development

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues

  • Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team

  • Is passionate about making a lasting impact on children’s learning and development

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.
