We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and driven Primary School Improvement Lead specialising in English to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering excellent, inclusive education.This role offers a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where you can work from home while making a direct impact across our family of schools.
About the Role
As a School Improvement Lead (SIL), you will work with the Director and Assistant Directors of Primary Education to build leadership capacity and raise standards in reading, phonics, writing, and foundational skills from nursery to Year 6. You will be key to ensuring our schools are well-equipped to focus on teaching and learning.
This is a part time role of 0.6FTE (19.5 hours per week) and will be based at home. However regular travel to GLT schools and other GLT locations will be required with a focus on schools in the South East.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Excellence: Support senior leaders to implement the Greenshaw Raising Attainment Strategy for English.- Lead Networks: Facilitate the English leaders’ network to share best practices and research-informed strategies.
- Expert Guidance: Build capacity for subject leaders in curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment.
- Onboard Success: Support new schools joining the Trust by training staff in GLT English principles.
- Model Practice: Act as an exceptional classroom practitioner, demonstrating excellent techniques.
We are looking for someone who:
- Brings successful experience as an English leader or adviser with a proven track record of impact.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and is an expert in curriculum development (reading, phonics, and writing).
- Is confident using data analysis to inform practice and provide effective challenge.
- Shares our values of collaboration, equity, and continuous improvement.
- Has a full driving licence and the ability to travel across our Trust sites.
