Engineer Surveyor – Plant & Industrial Equipment Location: Reading- Nationwide travel Job Type: Full-Time (Flexible Hours Considered) Package: £40,000-£50,000 + Overtime + Company Van + Training + Career Progression Join a Growing Engineering Business with Ambition Link Consultants are working with a local family-run plant machinery services business based near Reading supporting clients across construction, manufacturing, recycling, logistics, and wider industrial sectors nationwide. Their focus is simple: delivering high standards, professional service, and building strong, long-term customer relationships. As they continue to expand, they are looking for an experienced Engineer Surveyor to play a key role in maintaining quality and supporting business growth. The Role This is a field-based position focused on statutory inspections of plant and industrial equipment. You’ll be responsible for carrying out thorough examinations and ensuring full compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR regulations. This role suits someone confident working independently and representing a business professionally on customer sites.

• Approx. 70% site-based work (nationwide travel)
• Approx. 30% yard-based support
• Occasional overnight stays required
• Predominantly independent working

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out statutory inspections in line with LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR regulations
• Assess plant and industrial equipment for safety, condition, and compliance
• Identify defects, risks, and non-compliance, providing clear recommendations
• Produce accurate inspection reports and compliance documentation
• Liaise professionally with customers, explaining findings and required actions
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism
• Support the ongoing development of inspection processes and standards

What We’re Looking For We’re looking for an experienced Engineer Surveyor who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of safety, compliance, and attention to detail. Essential:

• Proven experience carrying out LOLER, PUWER, and/or PSSR inspections
• Strong background in plant machinery, lifting equipment, access equipment, forklifts, HGVs, or similar
• Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Confident working independently and managing your own workload
• Experience producing formal inspection and compliance reports
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant, Engineering, or similar
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
