A progressive and inclusive SEN school in Reading is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time, long-term position ideal for graduates or individuals looking to build experience in mental health, psychology, or education.
The school supports pupils aged 5–16 with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and trauma-related challenges. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide consistent support to help pupils regulate emotions, build resilience, and engage positively in learning.
Key Details:
* Role: Mental Health Support Worker
* Location: Reading
* Salary: £89–£100 per day
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
* Start Date: ASAP
* Ideal for: Psychology, Counselling, Criminology graduates or aspiring Therapists, Social Workers, or Teachers
In this Mental Health Support Worker role, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group emotional support
* Implement behaviour and therapeutic strategies
* Support students with emotional regulation and coping skills
* Assist teachers in creating a calm and structured classroom
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
