The Role

The school is looking for an enthusiastic DT ECT who is eager to develop their teaching practice and inspire students through creative and practical Design & Technology lessons. The successful DT ECT will be supported through a structured induction programme with guidance from an experienced mentor.

Responsibilities of the DT ECT include:

• Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4

• Planning engaging lessons covering design processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques

• Supporting students in developing practical workshop skills and creative design thinking

• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to support improvement

• Collaborating with colleagues within the Design & Technology department

The Ideal Candidate

• Be completing or have recently completed a PGCE or teacher training programme in Design & Technology

• Show strong organisational and communication skills

• Be committed to developing as a teacher within a supportive department
