Nurse Functional Assessor - Hybrid

£45,300 - £48,000 + approval bonus + performance bonus + benefits
Use your clinical skills - without shifts, weekends, or hands-on care. We’re recruiting Registered Nurses and other registered healthcare professionals for a hybrid Functional Assessor role based in Reading . This role is open to:
- Nurses (RGN / RMN / RNLD)
- Physiotherapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Paramedics
- Pharmacists
- No shifts, no nights, no weekends – Monday to Friday only
- Hybrid working – home-based with limited onsite days
- Long, unrushed assessments – time to properly understand each individual
- Pre-booked cases – no diary management or scheduling admin
- Structured role with full support – clear processes and expectations
- Full training and ongoing clinical coaching
- Clear progression and development pathways
- Full-time or part-time permanent role
- Office hours, Monday–Friday
- Hybrid working: typically 2 days per week onsite in Reading
- Assessments completed via telephone, video, or face-to-face
- Structured consultations using secure digital systems
- All appointments pre-booked
You’ll:
- Conduct structured clinical conversations using professional judgement
- Review medical evidence and supporting documentation
- Produce clear, objective, evidence-based written reports
- Use secure clinical systems and digital templates
- Contribute reports used to support formal disability benefit decisions
What you’ll need You must be registered as one of the following :
- Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) – NMC
- Physiotherapist – HCPC
- Occupational Therapist – HCPC
- Paramedic – HCPC
- Pharmacist – GPhC
- Minimum 12 months post-registration experience
- Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
- Confidence with report writing and IT systems
- Ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment

Pay, progression & benefits
- £45,300 - £48,000 salary
- £1,000 - £2,000 approval bonus
- Up to 10% annual bonus based on quality and performance
- Structured pay progression and salary reviews
- 25 days’ annual leave + bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time)
- Option to buy or sell annual leave
- 4 CPD days per year plus ongoing clinical coaching
- Professional registration fees paid (NMC / HCPC / GPhC)
