The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that explore a range of religions, beliefs, and ethical issues

• Encourage students to think critically, reflect deeply, and engage in respectful debate

• Support students of all abilities through inclusive and differentiated teaching

• Prepare students for GCSE Religious Studies examinations

• Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources

• Support extracurricular opportunities such as debate clubs, enrichment activities, or themed events

• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

• Play an active role in the pastoral life of the school, including form tutoring

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Holds (or is working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Has a degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject

• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for Religious Education

• Is eager to develop their teaching practice as an Early Career Teacher

• Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour

• Is reflective, open-minded, and committed to ongoing professional development

• Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team
