To support the continued success of the Science Department, the school is seeking a skilled and organised Science Technician.

Role Overview

The Science Technician will support practical science teaching across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons

• Maintaining laboratory equipment

• Ensuring safe storage of chemicals and materials

• Managing stock and ordering supplies

• Supporting GCSE and A Level practical assessments

• Maintaining compliance with COSHH regulations

• Cleaning and organising laboratories

• Assisting teachers with demonstrations

• Managing equipment inventory

• Ensuring health and safety standards are met

The role requires precision, strong organisation, and a commitment to safety.

Science Department

The technician works alongside experienced science teachers and a Head of Faculty. The department is well resourced and structured, with clear systems in place.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in a laboratory or school setting

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations (COSHH)

• Strong organisational skills

• Practical scientific understanding
