The Role
The school is seeking a reliable and organised Science Technician to support the delivery of practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
You will work closely with teachers to prepare materials, maintain laboratory equipment and ensure that all experiments are conducted safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
• Prepare apparatus and materials for practical science lessons
• Set up experiments and demonstrations for teachers
• Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and chemicals
• Ensure laboratories are clean, safe and well organised
• Follow health and safety regulations including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidance
• Monitor stock levels and order equipment and chemicals when required
• Assist teachers during practical activities where appropriate
• Maintain accurate inventory records
• Safely dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials
• Support science clubs and enrichment activities when required
Requirements
• Experience working in a laboratory or school environment
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures in science laboratories
• Strong organisational and practical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and reliability
