About the Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading the Science department and overseeing the delivery of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics across KS3 & KS4, with the potential for KS5 teaching depending on specialism.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the Science department

• Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment

• Monitoring student progress and supporting strong academic outcomes

• Supporting and mentoring teaching staff within the department

• Overseeing curriculum planning and departmental development

• Ensuring students are effectively prepared for GCSE examinations

You will also maintain a teaching timetable and model high-quality classroom practice.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)

• Strong subject knowledge across Science

• Ability to teach Science across KS3 & KS4 (KS5 desirable)

• Previous leadership experience or readiness to step into a departmental leadership role

• Commitment to academic excellence and high standards
