A prestigious independent co-educational school in Reading is seeking a passionate and versatile Music Teacher to join their Performing Arts Faculty from January 2026. Music plays a central role in school life — over 50% of pupils participate in ensembles, choirs, and orchestras, and the school regularly stages professional-level concerts, musicals, and community performances.
About the Role
This full-time, permanent role involves teaching Music across KS3–KS5 , nurturing students’ performance, composition, and theoretical understanding. You will inspire confidence, creativity, and appreciation for music across genres, helping students prepare for GCSE, A Level, and performance examinations.
You will also:
• Direct and accompany ensembles, choirs, or orchestras
• Support the school’s annual musical and festival of the arts
• Mentor students applying to music conservatoires or university programmes
• Contribute to community partnerships and national competitions
The department is housed in a purpose-built Performing Arts Centre , with professional-standard rehearsal rooms, digital composition labs, and a recording studio.

Experience and Qualifications
• QTS/PGCE and degree in Music or related field
• Strong performance, conducting, or composition background
• Experience teaching GCSE and A Level desirable
• Enthusiasm for both academic and co-curricular music
