SENCO - Independent School in Reading - April Start!

A well-established independent school in Reading is seeking an experienced and compassionate SENCO to join the school on a full-time, permanent basis, starting April. This is a key role within the school, supporting pupils with additional needs in a calm, well-resourced environment with small class sizes and strong pastoral care.

The Role

• Leading and overseeing SEND provision across the school

• Managing EHCP processes, reviews, and statutory requirements

• Coordinating interventions and tailored support for pupils with additional needs

• Working closely with teaching staff, senior leaders, parents, and external agencies

• Advising and supporting staff on inclusive classroom practice

• Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to whole-school development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• NASENCO qualification (or willingness to complete if not already held)

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school setting

• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and EHCP processes

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A calm, professional, and pupil-focused approach
