A supportive and forward-thinking specialist school in Reading is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience working with young people who require additional emotional and mental health support.

You will work with students who present with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma-related needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

Key Details:

* Role: Mental Health Assistant
• Location: Reading
• Salary: £89–£100 per day
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
• Ideal for: Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or Education Graduates

Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing 1:1 and small group emotional support
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation strategies
• Assisting with behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner
• Working collaboratively with SEN staff and therapists
• Helping create a positive, structured learning environment

This Mental Health Assistant role is ideal for aspiring Psychologists, Therapists, Youth Workers, or Teachers who are keen to build hands-on experience in a specialist setting.
