Inspire Learning in Key Stage 2

Our school in Reading is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join our supportive team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a dynamic class of upper Key Stage 2 pupils, helping them build confidence, resilience, and strong academic foundations as they approach the final years of primary school.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the curriculum, ensuring all pupils are challenged and supported to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

• Assessing pupil progress regularly and adapting teaching to meet individual needs

• Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

• Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development

• Working collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leaders

• Communicating effectively with parents and carers about pupils’ progress and achievements

• Participating in staff meetings, CPD, and school-wide initiatives

You will play a pivotal role in preparing pupils for the transition into Year 6 while fostering independence, resilience, and enthusiasm for learning.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Has experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5

• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge in literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum areas

• Can differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and higher-attaining learners

• Is organised, adaptable, and reflective in their practice

• Works collaboratively within a professional and supportive team

• Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and the wellbeing of all pupils
