Online CSAE and Crime Operations work closely with SEROCU Covert Operations (COU) to deploy under cover (UC) operatives against online paedophile and criminal activity.

The role of a PIP2 Investigator is to undertake SEROCU covert led investigations in pursuit of the disruption of criminals operating within the South East primarily within the investigation of CSAE and other serious, complex and organised crime facilitated online.

Managing a caseload, this role involves working in collaboration with key partner agencies, including those overseas, tasked with the investigation of matters impacting on national security/serious and organised crime or CSAE, assisting with investigations in accordance with legislation and good practice. You will use specialist interviewing skills to achieve best evidence, analyse on scene intelligence, support victims and suspects in accordance with Victims Code and Safeguarding principles and create prosecution files.

The successful candidate will be PIP2 accredited, have meticulous attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills with the ability to assess and analyse risk in order to set priorities.

You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
