Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller
Model Development and Calibration:
Lead the review, update, and calibration of complex Integrated Catchment Models (ICM), using a wide range of datasets. You will ensure models are robust, reliable, and suitable for informing key business decisions.
Field Investigation Oversight:
Plan and coordinate flow monitoring, asset surveys, and other field investigations. You will ensure high-quality data collection to support and validate modelling outputs.
Solution Development and Optioneering:
Apply modelling insights to identify, assess, and develop solutions that address current and future network challenges. You will contribute to the evaluation of investment options and performance improvements.
Project Management:
Take ownership of modelling projects from inception through to delivery. You will manage timelines, budgets, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes aligned with technical and regulatory expectations.
Location: Hybrid working with a base in Reading
Working pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday (36 hours per week)
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a related discipline
- Strong hands-on experience with Infoworks ICM or similar wastewater modelling software
- Proven experience in building, maintaining, and analysing complex hydraulic models, including optioneering
- Experience working within, or alongside, a regulated water or wastewater environment
- Solid understanding of wastewater network systems and asset performance
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and report writing skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience supporting regulatory investigations and long-term planning programmes within the water sector
- Understanding of industry frameworks relating to storm overflows and environmental compliance
- Experience contributing to strategic drainage and wastewater planning initiatives
- Ability to mentor or support junior team members and contribute to technical development within a team
