Veterinary Surgeon

Reading, Berkshire
A well-established, independent small animal practice in West Berkshire is looking to recruit an additional Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and experienced team. This is a multi-site practice with a strong local reputation, operating from a main rural hub between Reading and Newbury, supported by two smaller branch surgeries nearby. The role offers a genuine mix of consulting and operating, with a varied medical and surgical caseload. The practice is well equipped with modern facilities including digital X-ray, new ultrasound machines and endoscopy, allowing vets to work cases up properly and to a high clinical standard. Out-of-hours is covered externally, with a shared Saturday morning rota only. This position would suit an experienced small animal vet who is confident in routine GP work and comfortable with some sole charge, as the practice continues to support and develop its more junior vets. Clinical support is always available when needed. There is real scope to tailor the role to your interests. The practice is happy to support certificates, invest heavily in CPD where it benefits both vet and practice, or potentially offer responsibility for developing one of the branch surgeries for the right person. Flexible working is actively encouraged, with either a 4-day or 4.5-day working week available. The Package
  • Salary circa £45,000 - £65,000, open to discussion depending on experience
