Lead HSE Advisor - PSC

JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood in Reading are seeking a full-time Lead Occupational HSE Advisor for the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase of a large Middle Eastern project based in our Reading office. This role is based on a 12 month contract position and it's based 5 days per week in our Green Park, Reading offices.

Provide Occupational HSE input to the FEED and support Wood project management, client representatives, and project team to drive continual improvement in HSE outcomes. Maintain the Project HSE Management System in line with Wood and client expectations, and legal requirements. Undertake assurance activities to verify compliance and system effectiveness. Assess ongoing performance data to support project decision-making and contribute to the successful delivery of Wood corporate and project HSE initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the focal point for Occupational HSE and lead and support all aspects of HSE management during the FEED.

  • Interact with the project team, Wood and client, to promote HSE culture. Gather feedback to facilitate the continual development of the Project HSE Management System.

  • Ensure the implementation of the Project HSE Management System delivers consistent application and continual improvement and considers both Wood corporate and client contract requirements.

  • Develop and execute risk-based assurance activities; escalate significant findings to project leadership.

  • Analyse HSE performance data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Prepare and deliver HSE-related reports, presentations and communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline (desirable)

  • Lead Auditor Qualified (desirable)

  • Membership of HSE organization(s), e.g., IOSH (desirable)

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Relevant experience within the Oil & Gas / Energy Transition industry and engineering-office based projects, especially at the FEED stage

  • Comprehensive understanding of industry HSE standards and legal requirements

  • Experience of working in and managing an HSE Management System environment

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
