A large and well-established secondary school in Reading is seeking a proactive and organised Finance Assistant to join its busy finance department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career in school finance within a supportive and structured environment.
About the Role
The Finance Assistant will provide vital administrative and financial support across the department. Key responsibilities include:
Processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims accurately and promptly.
Maintaining and updating financial records and databases.
Assisting with bank reconciliations and other routine finance tasks.
Responding to finance-related enquiries from staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Supporting the Finance Manager in monitoring budgets, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial procedures and controls.
Contributing to the smooth running of the department through effective organisation and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will:
Have previous experience in finance, administration, or a similar support role.

Be proactive, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
