Our client is looking to appoint a Caretaker to start in February or March 2026. The Role

The Caretaker will be responsible for a range of duties including:

• Opening and closing the school site, including key holding and security checks

• Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and health & safety checks

• Maintaining school buildings and grounds to a high standard

• Setting up rooms for lessons, exams, and school events

• Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues

• Supporting health & safety and safeguarding procedures

Caretaker – Experience and Requirements

• Previous experience in caretaking, site maintenance, or a similar role (school experience desirable)

• Practical skills with the ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks

• Good knowledge of health & safety practices

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Legal right to work in the UK

• A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Start Date: February or March 2026

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
