Design and Technology Teacher – Full Time, Outer London, September 2025 Start
TLR available for leadership responsibility

We’re working with a well-established, high-performing secondary school in the Hillingdon area to appoint a full-time Design and Technology teacher from September 2025. This is a permanent post with the potential for additional responsibility, depending on experience.

Pupils respond well to clear expectations and benefit from a calm, well-structured learning environment. The leadership team is values-driven and focused on maintaining a culture of professional trust. Staff retention is strong, and new colleagues are supported through purposeful CPD, peer coaching, and leadership pathways.

The Design and Technology department is a vibrant, forward-thinking team with a clear vision for creative, hands-on learning. The department offers Product Design and Graphics at Key Stage 4, with Key Stage 3 teaching across a range of materials and processes including CAD/CAM, resistant materials, and textiles. Facilities include purpose-built workshops, laser cutting and 3D printing equipment, and a dedicated technician team. There is excellent take-up at GCSE, and senior leaders are committed to further investing in the subject.

This post would suit either an experienced teacher ready for the next step or a confident ECT looking to join a supportive and inspiring department. A TLR is available for candidates with curriculum leadership experience in an area such as KS3 coordination, assessment, or a specialist material area.

You should be:

• A qualified teacher of Design and Technology (QTS or equivalent)

• Confident in planning and delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Comfortable with behaviour management and setting high expectations

• Passionate about design education and practical, project-based learning

• Interested in curriculum development, innovation, and teamwork
