Hgv Technician

Location: Reading Area Salary: From £46,000 to £55,000 Hours: Monday to Friday days Overtime: Available and paid at enhanced rates About the Role We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join our client based in Reading. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing our large fleet of vehicles from our newly refurbished workshop. Key Responsibilities * Day-to-day repair and preventative maintenance of HGVs and light commercial vehicles * MOT preparation, PMIs, servicing, and defect rectification * Maintenance and repair of specialist road marking machinery and plant equipment * Participation in an on-call breakdown rota (1 week in 4 – company van provided) * Attending satellite depots to carry out repairs and maintenance as required * Proactively maintaining a safe and healthy working environment Skills & Experience Required * Strong mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles * Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in commercial vehicle or plant fitting OR NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Excellent problem-solving skills with good initiative * Calm under pressure with a professional attitude * Honest, reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious * Willingness to undertake additional training when required Desirable (but not essential) * Fabrication and welding experience * Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems * LGV licence Working Hours * Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:30 * 40 hours per week * Overtime available if desired Benefits * Competitive salary with excellent overtime potential * Full training and ongoing management support * Opportunities for internal promotion and career progression * Workplace pension scheme * Free workwear supplied Contact Elle at Questech for more info or apply and we will be in touch
