Chemistry Teacher - Outstanding Secondary School in Reading
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a passionate, knowledgeable and motivated Chemistry Teacher to join an Outstanding-rated secondary school in Reading. This is a full-time, permanent position beginning January 2026, or earlier for an available candidate.
Job Overview
The school is seeking a Chemistry specialist who can deliver high-quality teaching across KS3–KS4, with the option to teach KS5 Chemistry depending on experience. You will play a key role in inspiring scientific curiosity, delivering engaging practical work, and ensuring excellent progress for all learners. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge, effective classroom practice and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting young scientists.

• Degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
• PGCE with QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
• Experience teaching KS4 Chemistry; KS5 experience desirable
• Strong practical teaching skills and excellent scientific subject knowledge
• Ability to create an inspiring and well-structured learning environment
