Art ECT - Highly Regarded Secondary School in Reading
Our client is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art ECT to join a highly regarded secondary school in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher looking to begin their teaching career in a school that values the arts and provides strong support, mentoring, and professional development.
The school has a positive track record of developing ECTs and offers a structured induction programme alongside a collaborative and welcoming department.
The Role
Teaching Art across KS3 and KS4
Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop creativity and technical skill
Supporting pupils with coursework, sketchbooks, and portfolio development
Encouraging experimentation with a range of artistic media and techniques
Developing confident classroom routines and behaviour management
Working closely with experienced colleagues within the Art department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or be on track to qualify as an ECT
A degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related creative subject
The ability to teach Art across KS3 and KS4
A positive, reflective approach to teaching and learning
Willingness to take on feedback and develop professionally
Good organisation skills and a calm, encouraging teaching style
