The Role
The successful candidate will teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3–5, inspiring students to think deeply about ethical, philosophical, and spiritual issues. You will join a dynamic department that values inquiry, debate, and the exploration of ideas, while contributing to a culture of intellectual curiosity and academic ambition.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote independent thinking and analytical discussion.
• Teach topics across philosophy, ethics, and world religions, tailored to different age groups.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental enrichment initiatives.
• Support and guide students preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
• Lead or assist with extracurricular opportunities such as debate clubs, ethics workshops, and guest lectures.
• Play an active role in the wider life of the school community.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Hold a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
• Have proven experience teaching Religious Studies at secondary level (KS3–KS5).
• Demonstrate a passion for philosophy, theology, and ethics.
• Inspire students through engaging and thought-provoking lessons.
• Be an excellent communicator, committed to academic excellence and personal development.
• Be a reflective practitioner who contributes positively to a collaborative department.
