A well-established and high-performing secondary school in Reading, Berkshire is seeking to appoint an experienced and detail-oriented Data Manager to lead the management, analysis and reporting of student data across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled data professional who is passionate about supporting school improvement through accurate and insightful data management.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that student data systems are maintained to the highest standard and that staff have access to reliable information that supports teaching, learning and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the management and maintenance of the school’s Management Information System (MIS)
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity and security of all student data
• Produce regular data reports for senior leadership, governors and teaching staff
• Support the analysis of student attainment and progress data
• Manage the school census and statutory data returns
• Provide training and support to staff on the use of data systems
• Develop systems to track student progress and attainment
• Support the organisation and management of examination data
• Work closely with senior leaders to support data-driven school improvement strategies
• Ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR regulations
• Maintain assessment tracking systems for departments
• Develop efficient processes for data collection and reporting

Requirements
• Experience managing school data systems or working in a similar data management role
• Strong knowledge of school MIS systems (such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Advanced skills in Excel and data analysis tools
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-specialists
• Understanding of school assessment and examination processes
• Commitment to maintaining data security and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
