Engineering Teacher - Sixth Form in Reading - April Start!
A high-performing sixth form in Reading is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Engineering Teacher to join its successful technical and vocational provision from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach focused, motivated post-16 learners in a professional, academically driven environment.
Engineering is a well-established subject within the sixth form, with strong student uptake and clear progression routes into apprenticeships, higher education, and industry.
The Role
Teaching Engineering courses at post-16 level
Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that link theory to real-world application
Supporting students with coursework, projects, and exam preparation
Monitoring progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment activities
Working collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised post-16 teaching qualification
A degree in Engineering or a closely related subject
Experience teaching Engineering at sixth form or FE level
Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice
High expectations for student engagement, progress, and outcomes
A professional, organised, and student-focused teaching approach
